Kapow Plummet
On hot summer days there is no better way to cool down in
water. This summer day we headed to White Water in Branson MO. This year they
had a new ride called Kapow Plummet. This was the new popular ride they had
been advertising for several months. We all got up early and got packed and
ready for a full day in the water. Headed down there we all discussed how
excited we were to ride the new ride. My boys were so excited they couldn’t get
out of the truck fast enough. We all raced in to get our sunscreen on and
towels put on chairs. When we get to the bottom steps of Kapow Plummet there
was a big line. We were prepared for a big line because it was opening day.
Once we were in line standing at the bottom of the huge tower, I was surprised that
my nine year old hadn’t backed out. He is scared of heights but he hasn’t even
mentioned that he is scared and wants to back out. He is really surprising how
he is ready to overcome his fears. I have to say the closer we got to the top I
began to get a little nervous. Close to the top we can start to hear the ride
counting down. I had watched the commercials and it looks pretty wild. You step
inside a capsule where you stand on a clear shelve. The door closes and then
begins to count down. We are next, two at a time get in their separate tube.
It’s our turn to get in. We step inside and the rides door closes. Five, four,
three, two, one and the floor drops out and we slide down the tube in a split
second. Whoosh, out the bottom we shoot and the ride was over. Kapow Plummet
lived up to the hype. I was very proud of my son in overcoming his fears.
